Advocate for harassment-free workplaces

My Why

My professional experience includes running a successful non-profit, building an award-winning professional development program, establishing a corporate charitable program from scratch, and authoring a book aimed at helping targets of harassment.

I have a degree in broadcast journalism and am active in my community. I’m a Leadership Iowa and Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute graduate. I’m also the 2018 Metro Woman of the Year and Inspiring Woman of Iowa Finalist and enjoy traveling throughout the country speaking at conferences and inspiring others to find their voice.

I’m a passionate communicator who started Equitas Solutions, a full-time harassment-free workplace consultancy, to help others and eliminate harassment, bullying and retaliation once and for all. I provide education, understanding and support regarding the complexities of workplace harassment through training, talks, inspiration and exercises.

I have heard and seen it all and am comfortable having the tough and awkward conversations because I was a target of sexual harassment, bullying and retaliation. I took a stand against my former employer, spoke out and was fired seven hours after formally complaining about the toxic environment at the Iowa Statehouse. This ignited a public legal battle that I won on July 18, 2017.

I don’t want anyone to feel alone or isolated in standing up for themselves and against workplace harassment.
